Dinner at the Library Event, 2013

For the second year in a row,  Fleurie was asked to provide flowers for the Friends of the Fresno County Library, Dinner with the Authors event.

I like to source my materials as local as possible, so I work hard to gather beautiful flowers, fruit and foliages from many local sources. The vases and containers were all from my favorite local non-profit thrift store.

This year, again, Tory Farms in Dinuba, CA let me go out and pick some beautiful grapes. It is so peaceful out there, I love to enjoy the nature sights and the sounds of birds all around. I love the photos that resulted from that visit-

Another stop in my quest for local flowers is a flower farm nearby that grows for farmer's markets around the valley. She grows a wonderful array of summer-hardy flowers like dahlias, zinnias, tuberose, celosia and sunflowers, to name a few.

The back of my vehicle after the flower farm-

Add in some Fuyu persimmons, cotton, and celosia from generous friends' gardens, some foliage and flowers from my garden and a few from local wholesalers.
This wonderful pumpkin/ gourd is from The Grove in Sanger, CA. The Grove is not only the best place in the area to get your Halloween scare on, it is a great venue for weddings!

This pumpkin is decorated with flowers, herbs and succulents for a long-lasting centerpiece or decoration for your office or home!

Here are more photos of the beautiful flowers and fruits collected into fall hued arrangements-
