A visit to the Chocolate Flower Farm

I recently had the opportunity to visit the charming  Chocolate Flower Farm in Langley, Washington on Whidbey Island. I have wanted to visit there for at least three years, since coming across their website in a search for brown-hued flowers. Since I have relatives in WA, there was a great possibility that I would someday be able to visit. The view from the parking area:

Upon our arrival, Marie greeted us and showed us around a bit. I got to see where she makes her wonderful chocolate candles. The fragrance was heavenly and the color, a beautiful dark chocolate. She shared that they were busy sprucing up the garden for a visit from Martha Stewart Magazine! I wished I could have stayed to help! She is taking volunteer gardeners...It was hard to leave there, I so wanted to help. I have always had an interest in unusually colored flowers and foliage, and she is great at planting interesting combinations.
The Chocolate-Vanilla Swirl garden waiting for new plants to be planted. Daylilies, Eucomis, Physocarpis and Carex are just a few of the plants shown here.
To help offset costs of all the sprucing-up that needs to be done to prepare for the photo shoot, how about purchasing a Gift Certificate? Never too early to shop for Christmas! I got a candle and some of the lotion from their store in the charming downtown Langley, just a half mile down the road.

Thanks Marie for showing me around and talking flowers with me! I'd love to come back and visit! Maybe next time I can stick around and work in the garden! I'll be watching Martha Stewart magazine for your farm.
